My wife and I had been patients with this practice for many years, but over the last three there has been a marked deterioration in its management: My wife has for a long time suffered from high blood pressure. Three years ago she went for her annual review. The nurse concerned seemed to be having problems with two monitors that she tried, but pronounced that my wife’s bp was worryingly high. She gave her a daily chart and told her to borrow a machine to keep a log of bp . Unfortunately the practice didn’t have a machine to lend, and as we were now very concerned given the prognosis,we went to Boots and spent over £40 for a monitor. This only to find that her bp was not in fact at a level for concern . The next incidents involved my self attempting to get an appointment to see my allotted doctor. I booked an appointment on line at the beginning of November 2018 the next available date was November 27th which I confirmed. However, the day before, when I checked there was no such appointment. I telephoned and was given an apology but told that the next available appointment was on December 10 ,which I booked. I checked again on the day before only to be told that, again, there was no appointment but also that the doctor requested ( and with whom I was assured I had booked in November) was not even on duty that day ! After spending some time on the telephone I was given an ‘ emergency “ appointment with the doctor “on call “ By now, our confidence in this practice was wearing thin. When, finally we encountered problems in trying to order prescriptions on line, and when telephoning to query the second incident were dealt with quite sharply,it was the last straw. We have now changed our practice. We have no issue with the doctors at Spring Terrace, however the practice management who, when looking at the staff list ,seem to significantly outnumber the clinicians seem to leave a great deal to be desired. As a retired Headteacher I can only say that I would certainly have had questions to answer if the management in my schools seemed to have such problems. I did read that in the past that this practice was placed in the equivalent of “ Special Measures” , in my opinion it should still be there. |

Doctors are great but the receptionist staff are rude and very unprofessional, there has been multiple times where they have forgotten to call me back when I've been waiting for a phone call.
The surgery is very unprofesinal, for example there is a piece of paper as you walk in that says "please use the electronic board to sign ??" with a bloody emoji, why is a doctor's surgery using an emoji to tell me to sign in. It's a doctor's surgery not social media. |
