To get an appointment at this surgery, you have to ring at 8am and when you finally get through there are no appointments left, so are told to ring the following day. You can bypass the telephone system by turning up in person on the day, at 8am and will be guaranteed an appointment later on that day, so another trip to the surgery is required. This is not helpful, especially when you are feeling unwell. Receptionists are helpful but there is only so much they can do having to work with this booking system. There is no prebooking for appointments, which makes it difficult when you work full time. As it stands I have to take a full day's leave from work, just to try and get an appointment. You can have a phone appointment but they can't give you a time when the doctor will ring, so you literally have to stay glued to your phone for the day, as in my experience, if you miss the call, the doctor will not ring you back. This surgery is good in lots of other ways, as long as you don't want to see a doctor, and it used to be an excellent practice years ago, but it has never gotten back to the way it was before the Covid lockdown. |
