I have been a patient at the practice for more than 35 years since its early 'days in Baker's Lane, and I used to boast that it was the best surgery I ever had. Sadly, since the retirement of Dr. Morton and the tragic and untimely death of Dr Hayward, the practice has swiftly gone downhill. Where once I could phone up ,and speak to a friendly receptionist within a couple of minutes and make an appointment for a suitable future date, this is no longer the case. A partner told me that I can no longer make an appoin tment with the receptionist at the front desk. I now have to phone at 8.00am and wait anything up to an hour to speak to a stranger in a call centre only to be told no appointments available and try again tomorrow. We were initially told that when the surgery became part of a group practice patients would still be able to see the doctor of their choice and that they would get even better service. This has not been the case. I am over 75 and supposedly a vulnerable patient with a named doctor. This doctor has shown no interest in my welfare whatsoever. Dr Moreton and Doctor Hayward were excellent doctors who genuinely cared for their patients and quite often went the 'extra mile'. It is no longer the happy family friendly practice that it was.

Monday 21st December 2020 app does not work eventually got on line to discover no telephone appointments till 1 st of February 2021 called at 8 am this morning left on hold for 25 minutes to book a telephone appointment for family member receptionist would not discuss family member with me due to data Protection act even though I was phoning on her behalf, daughter registered at surgery for 18 years I’ve been registered at this surgery 28 years said she’s not on register, even though neither I nor my daughter have removed her, daughter at university 6 months of the year GP surgerys think it’s acceptable to leave teenagers with no Gp for 6 months of the year extremely unhelpful receptionist offered no solution or help, told me to speak to my daughter eventually I hung up .
