    Unfortunately, my family and friends are registered with this GP and we all complain how difficult getting an appointment is. A routine of getting an appointment would be calling precisely at 08:00 and waiting 10+ minutes to be answered. By then, all appointments will have been taken but if your lucky they’ll say a doctor will call you to book an appt. After that, you have to wait by your phone to get a call back, this call could be at ANY time in the day. Therefore if you’re a student like me, a phone call is not a valid reason to leave a lesson/lecture. As a working person this would be even more time-consuming. As a result of this, I tend to miss a full day of sixth form to answer calls and book my appt. In terms of doctors and nurses the quality is also poor and you can tell they don’t enjoy their job. They lack a friendly ambience.

As your comment was posted anonymously I cannot contact you directly. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this in more detail. I can assure you that we have dedicated staff answering our telephone calls during opening hours at the practice. We do have a stacking system so it may take time to be answered depending on the volume and at busier times but all calls will be answered in turn. I have outlined the current appointment system in operation at the practice below for your information: • We offer advance pre-booked appointments with doctors which can be booked up to two weeks ahead. • We offer on the day telephone appointments which are realised at 8am each weekday morning. The doctor will then call you back to discuss your problem and if you need to be seen face to face the doctor will arrange a mutually convenient appointment with you. • We also have late evening appointments on Monday evening until 8pm which can be booked in advance if available. • Also we now have extended access appointments which are at The Oaks Medical Centre, Shady Lane, Great Barr and these are weekday evenings until 8pm and also Saturday and Sunday morning. The doctors at this centre have access to medical records of patients whom book these appointments. Please note this will not be with one of our regular GP’s. Also to note when calling for a telephone appointment, you should mention when you are available to take the call and we will do our best to accommodate this. In terms of your comment regarding the doctor and nurses I will need further information and examples so I can look into this for you as we have never had negative feedback in this regard.     Getting an appointment is really a hard work because they don’t pick up the phones . And after you get to appointment the doctors are really careless and don’t have any responsibility as they should be.When you go over there you pickup extra illness.

    I wish you could put photos on here. I've been waiting for someone to answer the phone for 21 minutes. They text me asking me to ring them (joke). Tried this morning. 40 calls before it was answered. But never got any further than recorded message. Put phone down after waiting 15 mins. It's now 24 minutes and I give up. Massive phone bill for me.

I can assure you that we have dedicated staff answering our telephone calls during opening hours at the practice. We do have periods when there is a high call volume. The calls are stacked in a queue and we will answer as soon as we possibly can. When you just get to the recorded message and no further it is because all the incoming lines are busy so you would need to try again.
