You can never see a doctor. You cannot get through on the phone without a very long wait. Number 27 in the queue when you phone at dead on 8am. Once you do get through to a person 39 minutes later, that person cannot make face to face appointments. After being in severe pain for days I wonder how ill one has to be to be seen by an actual doctor? I find it very scary that when you are in need of a doctor the Swan Practice is not there for it’s patients. We have very little choice in Buckingham and since the merger things have gone downhill fast. I have tried to register with Winslow but am just outside of the required area. Where else can Buckingham residents go? It is not rocket science as to why A&E is inundated, there is no other choice! With Buckingham continuing to get bigger and bigger this situation will, I fear, only get worse! | ||||||

I am surprised by the adverse comments made with regard to the Swan Practice. Our own experience could not be more different, in short a really first class service. Receptionists are caring and really go that extra mile to help. Nurses are outstanding. Doctors that take time to listen and then explain issues and options. Recently I became unwell mid afternoon and phoned the Swan Practice The Receptionist was helpful and within 10 minutes the duty doctor had retuned my call to discuss my case and gave advice. After 24 hours no improvement so called again. Again a very helpful Receptionist and the duty doctor returned my call within minutes and asked me to attend Verney Close within the hour for an ECG and then review with the duty doctor.
What service.
We are so very fortunate to have the caring and dedicated team at the Swan Practice.

My elderly Mother passed away recently, and had suffered a number of health problems over her 92 years. She was a patient at this practice for over 30 years. Despite the occasional frustrations with appointments, she was usually able to be seen either that same day or the following day, and more recently with her increasing ill-health and frailty, she was seen on a regular basis by two different GPs, both of whom looked after her very well. This continued during her last weeks when she was resident in a nursing home in Buckingham. My Mother received excellent care and attention for many years from both the Doctors and Practice Nurses at this surgery and I would happily recommend them to other patients. | ||||||
