My surgery is Ashford Hollington but my GP has kindly referred me to Dr Vattakuzhiyll at Sellindge because I had a problem with my ear. I must say that this surgery impressed me so much before even go there. When I emailed back to surgery confirming my attendance I received an acknowledgement starting from Kirsten McGill. You don't get that kind of prompt email communication from many other surgeries. Also, the surgery was spotlessly clean and seating was arranged with correct social distance It is totally covid compliant and I had to press the buzzer and they let me in, then they asked me the sanitized my hands and checked my temperature before asking me to take a sit. The receptionist lady was very friendly and professional Then this ever so nice nurse called June took me to test my hearing. She was very charming and courteous. She took the time to explain what's the hearing test was all about and what I could expect. Then she conducted my hearing test while engaging me with small talk in between. All I had to do was to press the buzzer whenever I hear a noise in my left or right ear. It was a very thorough examination. June had so much patience because I pressed the buzzer three for times although I had not heard any noise in my ear. (The reason is explained below) After that June took me to see Dr Vattakuzzhyll. She also sat opposite me and helped Dr to examine me Dr V is a very very friendly and professional. He took me through my hearing chart and explained all the graphs and charts. He said that there was a slight hearing loss of high pitch noise which is due to the age. He spent considerable time examining my right ear and told me the tinnitus was a temporary problem due to wax. He treated me like an educated patient and showed me all the graphs. He had my wax removed (Great . With no water ) and told me one ear was infected and gave me antibiotics heal it. Then he engaged more friendly chat with me and ended the examination. I left the surgery very impressed with Dr V and June. I also notice that they have a little problem due to Corona. in Normal time a hearing examination is carried out in a soundproof room to stop outside noise coming in. Unfortunately due to Corona when a nurse and a patient are in the test room the doors and window have to be fully opened to let the fresh air in. Unfortunately, June'sexamination room was right next to Dr V's consultation room where he too has to leave the door fully open when talking to his patients. This meant that I could not hear some of the little noises came from the test machine under different pitches. I may probably have not pressed the buzzer not because of any fault in my hearing. This might have gone against me in the report. I guess there is no solution to this dilemma until we ger rid of the Covid 19 in a few months and patient to surgery would have to grin and bear it. it does not matter because June and Dr Vattakuzhiyil are two superb NHS staff members. They are a credit to NHS. (They deserve a pay rise too) I would give Sellindge ENT surgery 5 Stars and 100% . I cant wait to go back there for my second appointment in the New Year. Devsiri |

I have recently moved to Sellindge and on my first visit to see a GP was really pleased with the friendly reception staff and the really kind doctor who I think was a locum. Much better than my last surgery. Well done all. |

Always caring doctors, receptionists and nurses. Coping well in difficult circumstances. Been going to this surgery for 30 years, getting more difficult to get appointments but that seems to be a country wide problem, saying that there is always the open surgery if you are able bodied to get there. |
