I rang every morning at 8:30am and the phone. line was always busy. When you finally get through all the appointments are gone for the day. You can’t book in advance as well. Always gone. You finally get an appointment and the doctor are running at least half an hour late. The waiting areas gives no room for privacy. You have to give out personal details within earshot of everyone. You need more doctors It’s no good having one or 2 doctor working in 3 surgeries. You might as well have one site. Receptionist need training on customer service. I was referred to as that one by the receptionist. Very humiliating. |

I was with this doctor since i was born so 32 years. Earlier this year I had a serious accident, I went to see this G.P. because I had been having some very bad flashbacks and nightmares about the incident, I felt so on edge etc... The doctor did not even bat an eyelid about what i was telling them and gave no advice what so ever. All the doctor offered was a medical certificate to sign me off work for my other more obvious medical symptoms from the accident. I left feeling rather upset and twice as anxious. The doctor even got the details of my accident and injuries wrong on the medical certificate so showed the doctor wasn't listening at all... I changed doctors the next day and they have been brilliant. Got an appointment straight away, the doctor listened carefully to what i had to say. Offered me a choice of treatments and within a few weeks i had an assessment with a CBT practitioner. I am now well on my way to recovery and was told that I was suffering from PTSD. When I left luton medical center, i left there feeling as though I was stupid and the feeling that the doctor thought I was making it up. In my opinion, if you have mental health or psychological problems you should avoid the doctor all together. Even physical symptoms, the doctor does not explain anything and just either writes a prescription or sends you for a blood test. |
