I have been a going to this surgery for 17 years and now I've just found out my GP is no longer there! A note was left on the door telling their patients to go to sheerness, so that means a 3 +miles round trip if your ill, and that's not on. We were told that the GP was looking at the old age concern building in well road in Queenborough that would make a great surgery but I have now been told that the GP is not looking at the moment. The GP should never have left the Queenborough surgery until they had another surgery lined up, that's bad practice. |

The doctors, nurses and the majority of the reception staff are brilliant, couldn't fault them. They have a lot of time and empathy for their patients unfortunately that has been marred by my experience of a receptionist at queen borough surgery this morning. I suffer asthma and was suffering from breathing difficulties which was getting worse I wanted an inhaler ordered (mine had ran out)but alas could not order over the phone (I understand procedure) I was told to call back for an emergency appointment at 3pm (I phoned at approx 10am) I asked for the receptionist to ask the doctor to give me a call- this was not done. The afternoon receptionist was absolutely brilliant when I phoned and told them what had happened, an inhaler was organised for me which I picked up. I had to resort to finding someone with an inhaler just so that I could breathe easier.(as it turned out it wasn't the right inhaler but I was desperate to get one) I have been going to queen borough surgery since I was a baby, I am now 41 and I have never been treated so rudely and in a flippant manner before. So I thank the afternoon receptionist who saved me a trip up the hospital in an ambulance because they cared. For the morning receptionist, if you have no empathy for the patients perhaps you should think of a change of jobs. Reply from Dr Fahmy M M E & Dr Patel S Thu, 27 Mar 2014 14:49:16 Z I was saddened to read that you experienced difficulties at Queenborough surgery on the date mentioned, and thank you for bringing it to our attention, I shall be looking into it further. It is for safety reasons that we do not take prescription requests over the phone, but we do accept them by post; fax; in person or via Patient Access (which can be arranged on request). On a positive note I am pleased to hear that the afternoon receptionist dealt with the situation, and organised the provision of the inhaler for you. I would like to offer my sincere apologies to you on behalf of the Practice. Kind Regards, Practice Manager |

I have been a patient now at both Sheerness and now at Queenborough. All staff are polite and very helpful, I normally see one named GP who is excellent but another I have seen is also a brilliant doctor. i am sure that this is the best Surgery on Sheppey. Hav not had any problems in over 10 years as a patient.
