The receptionists at St George's Medical Centre are unhelpful and miserable< My dad was beaten up by a health care assistant at Southend hospital. He was covered from head to toe in bruises and I have evidence on film of what the hospital did to him. We wanted this information put on his medical notes because he is now scared of medical staff. This was an assault as the person involved has been arrested and charged, he is just waiting for a court date. So while my dad is getting medical care we did not want to keep having to repeat ourselves with my dad's story over and over again. But the doctor's surgery is trying to ignore the fact that my dad was beaten up by a member of NHS Staff and when we tell a member of staff they don't pass this information on they just ignore us. If a patient assaulted a member of staff they would put it in the newspaper and want the patient hung, drawn, and quartered, but when a patient gets assaulted by an NHS member of staff they deny it and try to hush it up. It should be violence against anyone should not be tolerated, but with the NHS this is one-sided now. |

I have been with this surgery for many years and have always found all the staff your helpful.
The doctor is always ready to listen to you and send you to see consultant if needed, if he had not gone on his own instincts i would not be here now.
Nothing but praise for the receptionists , nurses and GP's |

The GP`s themselves are good and I have not had any issues with them. The problem I find is that it is often very hard to get a parking space in the carpark as it is almost always full i usually walk to the surgery but cant always as i sometimes have to take my mother for an appointment and she cant walk very far. People are forced to park on the double yellow lines in the access road which then makes things worse and difficult for emergency vehicles to access the site.
Also I feel that the practice is massively oversubscribed. I rang the surgery for an appointment to see a doctor today for my mother. I rang the surgery at exactly 8am and i was already number 24 in the call queue. I got a chance to speak to a receptionist by around 8.10am the receptionist was helpful but told me that they were already fully booked for my normal GP however I was able to get an appointment with a different GP but if i had been a few moments later i have a feeling I would have had to ring again the next day as she told me there was only two appointments left.
Overall a good surgery but very poor access and facilities for people who have to drive there. I recommend walking if you can. |
