GPS are great but getting an appointment impossible. There is an after hours service which was not offered to me and when I pointed this out I was given a number to call in the evening. When I called they said all appointments have gone and the GP surgery could have made me an appointment from 2pm. Awful service. |

The telephone system is appalling. I have called for an appointment at 8am on the nose, and can be on hold for over 30 mins (this has happened on more than one occasion) - when put through it is near impossible to get an appointment. On one occasion I was given a telephone appointment on a Friday, when I called I was informed the doctor was on holiday and couldn't be given my blood test results with no suggestion of how I could get them. I have just been on hold for 15 mins and then told by the answer machine that I must call at 11am to get results and cut off (why can this couldn't be stated at the start so I don't have to waste my time on hold?) When attending the practise, the reception staff are rude. The place looks disorganised. Doctors and Nurses have always been helpful and kind (when you can get an appointment) |

After 30 years with this practice I have recently taken the difficult decision to move for various reasons: 1) Appointments - when calling when the surgery opened I often called up to 100 times (no exaggeration) before getting through. When I eventually did, the appointments had sometimes all gone. I have been to East Barnet, Mill Hill and Edgware to out of hours appointments as a result. 2) You never see the same doctor twice - just a string of locum doctors - there is no continuity of care and this is exacerbated by the need to visit out of hours surgeries. 3) Lack of confidence in medical care. For example - The doctor requested a test and the nurse then said that it was not needed. No proactive follow up of recurring problems. 4) The staff can be very sharp in their tone especially with young adult patients. I did raise this with the practice manager and noticed some improvement. The comparison between this surgery and the one that I have moved to is like night and day and consequently I would not recommend this practice. |
