I had an appointment this afternoon at 1.15pm for myself and my two young children (1 & 4) years old. I set off to my bus at 12.30 in the pouring rain and it wasn't just trickling it was terrential for the most of it. Rain does not bother me, i don't drive so I live with it. My bus Only comes once every hour at 4 minutes past the hour. The only bus I could have got there. I called the dentist at 5 to 1 telling them I am at my stop waiting for my bus so I am going to be late. I was told that she would let the dentist know. We get into the dentist at 1.30 I am never normally late but to be told that we could not be seen because I was late infuriated me. I asked the lady in reception how long he would have been assigned for to do all 3 of us as we were all booked in together and she said half an hour. We still had at least 15 full minutes to be seen for the slot we had been booked in for! Even if he could just have seen the two children and i could have just gone without. No, we were told our next available appointment was on December or in 3 weeks with another dentist. I am fuming as I never expected this from my dentist. Once more, a lady came out of the room I am normally in with my dentist and booked herself a lovely convenient appointment for next week :) This week I was made redundant, I would have got a taxi if they weren't a 20minute wait plus I do not pay for the bus which is convenient after being made redundant. Me and my daughter got soaking wet through to the bone and our appointment was double booked anyway! Absoulete disgrace. I really feel like I don't want to even come back. You maybe really should consider extending the time from 10 minutes to later and consider the weather does have an impact on appointment times. I could not let my daughter walk back home in her damp clothes So I had no choice but to get a taxi from the dentist. Lucky my son was in his pram nice and dry or yes it could have been worse.
