From ringing up to register and to being seen took just 3 weeks - very impressed with this considering how hard it is to find a dentist to register with these days.
On arrival for my first initial appointment - was made to feel at ease by both reception and dentist - thankfully no treatment required this time. Overall quite a good experience . |

I'm currently struggling with horrible toothache, the only thing that seems to take the edge off the pain is the max adult dose of Ibuprofen and max dose of co-codamol. At night i'm waking up every few hours in pain.I then have to work out how long I have to wait before I can take anything. 20 mins after taking the painkillers I can sleep for a couple of hours before the cycle starts again. During the day it's easier to regulate taking painkillers.
When I initially phoned the dentist surgery I was told 4 weeks wait and that if I needed to see a dentist any sooner to phone NHS direct.
I've spoken to NHS direct a collection of times and as it's during the week it's my dentist's responsibility and they can't help and that I should phone my dentist again.
I spoke again to the receptionist and manage to get the appointment in 10 days time.
Is this really the best they can do? I offered to pay privately but apparently, this makes no difference. Do I try and find a different dentist?
I don't like taking painkillers or being in pain.
If they're so busy and managing so badly why are they still accepting new patients? |
