I was two years on the waiting list to get onto this dentist practise as an NHS patient. I initially saw a Lady dentist who assessed me and told me that because I had periodontitis and other problems my only option was for them to refer me to the Sheffield college of Surgeons for treatment because I couldn't afford to have the work done privately. In the meantime I had to have an emergency extraction and a dentist saw me and set up a proper course of.treatment for me which worked perfectly and everything was resolved. Unfortunately she left the surgery and I was referred back to the original dentist who I had no desire to see because of the way I was treated with such a dismissive arrogant attitude before. Oh and btw I never did get that appointment with the Sheffield dental hospital. I then spoke with the practise manager and she referred me to another dentist within the practise. I had to cancel an appointment in March that was made with him because I am disabled and am practically house bound. I do not drive and sometimes I am unable to attend on the day but I always try to give some notice beforehand. I made an appointment for today 10th September but because my opticians appointment ran over I called the dentist to say I would be late and could they notify the dentist and if he couldn't see me today could I reschedule. One of the receptionists said she would call me back. She didn't so I had to call again and this time she said that the dentist had refused to see me because of my cancellation record and I was struck off their list of patients and I would have to find another dentist to register with. I then called around in person and spoke to a receptionist again to plead my case also asking if I couldn:t see the dentist on the NHS could I see them privately as the treatment I needed was cosmetic. Again the dentist refused to see me under any circumstance despite me never having actually met him? I felt upset and humiliated and they didn't even afford me the common courtesy of speaking with the practise Manager. I found their treatment of me to be discourteous and downright degrading. They should be ashamed of themselves for treating a disabled patient this way! I have since called the NHS customer complaints line, lodged a complaint and they have given me details of another surgery to sign on with! I would recommend giving this practise a wife birth especially if you are disabled or a special needs patient! They are appalling! |

The dentist's interpersonal skills were sadly lacking. The proposed dental treatment was not explained adequately. Subsequently, issues raised were not dealt with in a timely manner. |

This has been my dental surgery for at least 15 years, and during that time they have dealt with some complex issues with my teeth. They have always made me feel comfortable and they inspire confidence with their professionalism and good humour. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to others. |
