Visited emergency dentist at penrice hospital on the Wednesday after a filling came out & decay set in.I was,at that time,pleased with a nice,tidy filling.Experienced discomfort for next couple of days but to be expected. By the Friday night I was in severe pain.Struggled on until Monday when I got an appointment at Brighter Dental. I was then examined & told there was no problem with my tooth.I certainly didn't imagine the unbearable pain that left me rolling around the floor clutching my head after trying to eat. The dentist kept contradicting themselves & left me quite confused.One minute it's an infected nerve,next it's sensitive teeth(!!!!),& then I needed a root canal but the dentist doesn't do that. I was quite surprised when the dentist said "what do you want me to do about it,I can't see anything wrong with your tooth?".To which I replied "I was kind of hoping you'd tell me as you're the dentist". The dentist settled on their excuse of sensitive teeth,which the dentist thinks I must've developed all of a sudden.Coincidence maybe I went 42 years without this pain & developed it the same day I had dental surgery.Make up your own mind. In the end it was quite clear I was getting nowhere here & was fobbed off with a tube of sensitive toothpaste!!! Luckily I receive help paying for dental care but the appointment wasn't even worth the time or fuel to get there. Credit where it's due,the receptionist was helpful. Unfortunately very disappointed with the service.Back to the emergency switchboard tomorrow morning to book up somewhere else.

Traveled from Bude for an emergency appointment, arrived 10 minutes late due to exceptionally bad traffic, I was in considerable amount of pain due to a disability I have & disabled parking spaces were full. When making the appointment we were not given directions or told to be there any earlier than appointment time, however after finding which part of the hospital the dental area was, as soon as we walk in, we were "told off" & made to feel like scolded children by the dental nurse. Tried to explain but they didn't want to listen & actually argued with us that we were informed to be there early because they tell people to be there early when they answers the phone (wasn't them who made the appointment!) They actually took longer telling us off than it took to receive treatment. As we were filling out forms, over heard Dentist wanting to do treatment, but nurse disagreeing with him & saying we would need to come back another time, (which would have been fine with us, since we were late.) However after quick look at painful tooth was told to go & find a dentist for a filling, & that they would not be doing anything. A temporary filling was used to block nerve. The dentist was polite, but seemed dictated to & at mercy of dental nurse, who was not happy about having to hand him all of 2 items. Now the whole reason we were there is because none of our local dentist are taking patients (private or NHS) & my husband had been in tremendous pain for over 4 weeks, with the tooth breaking & not responding to strong painkillers, getting worse. We paid the fee but ended up without treatment, being talked down to like children & over a 2 hour round trip, still needing treatment but without a dentist or treatment option. I wish I had got the dental nurses name, as i would be making a complaint about her attitude.
