Spire Dunedin Hospital

I had an inguinal hernia operation at this hospital yesterday, following a similar operation at the same hospital (on the other side) last year. The whole experience was very good. I am particularly impressed with all the nurses and care assistants that I came across. Yesterday, the initial check in by the nurse was excellent. She had just the right mix of being welcoming and friendly, as well as being very professional and empathetic to any concerns. The nurse in the recovery room, was just the right person for me to come round to following my operation as he chatted with me, which helped me to slowly wake up. I dont remember the names of many of the other nurses, but all were very good. The only issue I had last year for my first operation was that it was on a hot summers day and the room I was in was facing the sun and far too hot - no air conditioning, Apart from that the rooms are clean, comfortable, spacious and well kitted out. I thoroughly recommend this hospital.

I can not praise and recommend this hospital enough. The commitment to their patients is outstanding! From the reception personnel to the doctors, the Spires Dunedin team is amazing, very very helpful and highly efficient, professional and caring. I had an appointment at Clinic, and there was some waiting time to do the MRI. However, the staff apologised for the delay and kept me informed about what was happening. I was offered tea or coffee and treated with real care and thoughtfulness. The atmosphere in the clinic was also very calm. Since I needed all the paperwork to take with me abroad, I received a CD with the MRI results, the invoices per e-mail, and the doctor wrote a letter with a description of my condition for further analysis in my home country which was sent to me securely with a special encryption software. I live in Germany and have never had such an amazing treatment like here. Fantastic teamwork. Thank you.
