Procedure Information
Liposuction is a way of getting rid of stubborn fat that will not go away despite your best efforts to improve your lifestyle through diet and exercise. It doesnt remove cellulite, stretch marks or loose skin but can be used to reduce male breasts (gynaecomastia) and excess fluid. The most common benefits of liposuction include: less body fat better self-confidence and self-esteem ability to wear clothes that were previously unsuitable a feeling that your body is now in proportion. It is not normally available on the NHS except when it is being performed as part of reconstructive surgery.
The operation usually takes from one to three hours and is carried out under general anaesthesia, so you will be asleep throughout. Sometimes, you might have a local anaesthetic (where only one area of the body is numbed and you are awake) if the liposuction is performed on a very small area of the body. If the treatment is on the lower body, an epidural may be used.

Aug 14 2023 Having been advised the waiting time for a partial knee replacement via the NHS was in excess of 12months I opted to go private, and self fund. . I had a consultation with the chosen consultant in February 2023, and had the operation in Little Aston in July, From the time of admittance I was welcomed by the staff and treated professionally. Having met both the surgeon and anaesthetist, prior to the operation, to explain exactly what was going to happen, the treatment proceeded as planned. The operation went well and with the excellent care provided by the Nursing staff, I was in the hospital for just over 36 hours, before being discharged. Throughout I was given first class treatment, both pre and post operative, which included a programme of physiotherapy exercise to support recovery, in an all inclusive package. Whilst knee surgery is far from a painless procedures, the alternative of living with the daily pain of a defective knee, for those that can afford to do it, surgery at Little Aston is well worth considering.

Aug 4 2023 Saw Mr Calladine for cataract treatment. Received excellent care from the first appointment, through the surgical process and again today for the post surgery appointment. All staff are friendly and efficient. I’m actually looking forward to having me remaining Sue done next month.

Aug 30 2022 My appointment was ok despite having to sit in a crowded waiting room in main reception and even more crowded waiting area in radiology where it said to wear face coverings and sit 2 metres apart but the receptionist was sorting people next to each other, I actually stood for some of my appointment waiting. A lot of my details were incorrect which the receptionist said they would correct but didn’t. The finance department however do not respond at all, I have been trying for months to get hold of them and nothing not sure why they make everything so stressful for people I have asked for their complaints procedure now see if that gets a response from them, I wouldn’t book an appointment at this hospital again. The consultant was lovely and knowledgeable but the issues I had took over that
