I had lovely pre op appointments and a hysteroscopy here, nice setting and lots of attention to detail, making me very reassured and comfortable. If you find yourself waiting for an operation date I recommend not being shy about ringing and checking, I waited a month to hear - rang and found I hadnt been put on the list. I came in for my operation at the scheduled time (Endometrial ablation) and waited 41/2 hours, admittedly in a private ensuite. I was sitting in a chair waiting and wasnt told where I was on the list ( I did ask) if I had known I was last on the list I could have got into bed and relaxed a little (no one but housekeeping visited after the initial nurse, consultant amp; anesthesiologist). After my operation I was taken back to my room on 20 min obs and on one of these it was noted that the fluids bag was tucked behind my pillow and blood had back washed along the catheter (should have been clamped or on a stand - not a problem, just bad practice). After feeling unwell and vomiting I was given anti sickness and encouraged to eat and go - a little quickly in mine amp; my husbands opinion - probably just over 3hrs (minimum time after a general). The staff were friendly but I would think twice if offered this fast track option again.
