This home looks like a first class hotel but when you see what goes on after several years of visiting a relative there who could not speak up I observed the huge staff turnover and absentee management.
It makes it so hard for me write about because there were some excellent caring individuals, but all too often there were untrained agency staff with no clue about dementia or individuals' needs. Luckily I moved my relative out to die in a more compassionate place.
Caring Homes? Don't make me laugh. I wish I had put a camera in there. Reply from Tall Trees Care Home with Nursing Tue, 03 May 2016 09:25:10 +0100 Thank you for taking the time to review Tall Trees Care Home, we have noted your comments and take all feedback seriously. |

80 yr old lady stayed for respite after operation. Promised not on dementia ward - first day invited to lunch with other residents in dining room, all patients were dementia. Was placed in a room originally occupied by patient who needed more care so moved to another room, this patient was so disorientated that she kept trying to get into bed with my friend who was supposed to be resting after operation! she suffers from anxiety. First night of stay, fire alarm went off, door closed shut and could not be opened, my friend was VERY distressed, 10 minutes of alarm, then stopped, door opened. No one came to reassure. when questioning staff the next day they told her not to worry, it happens all the time when people make toast !!!!! (one occasion whilst on the phone to me it went off again)! Was told she would see a Dr before midday - still waiting at 5pm before staff told her that the Dr had gone. FINALLY, my friend told me that from the day she got there until the day she left she had NO hot water. She was given warm water to wash in once a day. She has still paid the full amount of £1000 for the week with no deductions for poor service. |
