Grange Nursing Home

My Mum spent the last year here she was treated with the utmost care, dignity, and compasion. My self and the other members of her family have been made welcome, we are able to join mum at mealtimes enableing us to spend precious time with her. It is with thanks to The Grange that Mum is actually to enjoy this satge in her life and we are extremley grateful. The home is very well run, staff are caring and residents are well looked after.

My Dad spent the last months of his life here. At any point when I visited staff were extremely pleasant, calm and polite and very caring, treating every resident with dignity. My Dad deteriorated rapidly due to vascular dementia, despite this whenever I visited he was smartly dressed, immaculately clean, clean shaven, his hair was combed and he was more often than not in a very quiet, very spacious lounge with one or two other residents, watching television and tucking into chocolate biscuits. The place is furnished like a lovely home environment with ornaments, books, a fish tank etc. and was spotlessly clean on every visit. My Dad was admitted very underweight and was given lovely home cooked food and gained weight, there was residents choice of meals and the ability to express a preference for favourite dishes, every time I visited he had a drink available to him as well as soups and nutritional drinks.At every stage of my Dad's illness I was kept fully informed of his progress, communication was excellent, even if he had a fall that required no medical attention I was fully informed at the time it happened. I would not hesitate to recommend the Grange to anybody making the difficult decision of trying to find care for a loved one, I personally find it very comforting that my Dad was so well cared for at the end of his life.
