Woodland Court Residential Home

All the staff at Woodlands are caring. There is a mixture of young and older staff, all female. The older ones know instinctively how to deal with residents and the younger ones act with a maturity beyond their years. The actual building is a little tired with some shabby carpets and paintwork but there is a feeling of homeliness and safety. The food is excellent and residents can ask for tea/coffee/juice any time they desire. My mum is finding it difficult to fit in because her dementia is far milder than that of most other residents at the moment and there isn't room to segregate according to needs but I am hoping mum manages to find a happy medium because I don't believe I could find a more caring environment for her.

We have nothing but praise for the management and all the staff at Woodland Court. They are well trained in all areas and have created a safe and happy family atmosphere. The décor is bright and cheerful, a little in the style of a country house, with excellent home cooking and stimulating entertainment. Mother, who has vascular dementia, has made amazing progress since moving here. After just one night at Woodland, there was an immediate lift in her mood and after a month of gentle nurturing, she can now walk considerably further than the half a dozen steps she could manage on arrival. We're relieved to have found an excellent care home that really does care for our mother.
