Westwood Lodge Care Centre provides round the clock nursing care, excellent accommodation and home cooking. The home sits in its own grounds and has lawned gardens and a secure patio area for relaxing in fine weather.
Some bedrooms offer patio doors out onto the gardens. The home has an active programme of activities and families are very involved in the way in which carers provide services. Has received the Gold Standard Framework for end of life care.
Accommodation is provided in single rooms, the majority of which have en-suite facilities. All rooms have TV and nurse call systems. Communal areas comprise a selection of lounges and dining areas, a reception area and quiet rooms. The upper floor can be accessed by passenger lift.
A varied and nutritious menu is offered and special diets can be catered for.
A variety of recreational and social activities are offered as well as organised outings.

Jun 4 2014 Staffing levels at night are terrible, God help if more than one resident becomes ill. No way is it within national guidelines. Sort it out!

Jul 17 2013 This nursing home is well presented and the rooms are excellent and spaceous. The food is ok but could be much better. The main problem with WestWood Lodge is the staffing levels. If you want your loved ones to be looked after here, they will. But (and there is a big but), staffing levels, especially at night, are poor. I think there is great potential with this nursing home, however the management (Meridian) don't seem over interested in making sure it is adequately staffed and if unchanged untimately this is going to result in an accident waiting to happen. I genuinely hope this is sorted for the sake of the residents. In the meantime, if you are thinking of taking your loved ones to this place, just think about this.
