Feb 13 2017 Appearances can be deceptive. My mother in law has spent the last six weeks of her life in Biffins before passing away peacefully. The House is old and some of the furnishings are rather tired but the most important thing about a care home is the care! We found the level, consistency and commitment of everyone on the staff absolutely superb. Nothing was too much trouble, all were willing to go the extra mile and often did and their support to us as a family was beyond reproach. We were offered innumerable coffees and snacks as well,as lunches and dinners as we sat by our loved one as her health deteriorated. The atmosphere in the lounge was always happy and peaceful and it was clear that every resident was cared for and nothing was the ver too much trouble for the staff. We would therefore have no hesitation in warmly recommended Biffins to those who need special levels of care in later years.

Jan 16 2017 Having seen many elderly care homes over the past 10 years, my husband and I were horrified to find that our relative had been discharged from hospital to this care home. We found the home to be scruffy in general appearance, but on spending time there saw that the furniture and furnishes were stained, chipped, old and not fit for purpose. The bedrooms had a mixture of furniture including an extra mattress standing on it's side by the bed, a commode that wasn't required in the room, and "junk" stored in the top of the wardrobe. Our relative asked for some fruit and was offered dried up Christmas pudding. The front door required a loose mortice key that needed to be fetched each time from another room, so in the event of a fire would cause a problem as it was obviously not linked to a fire system.We would not recommend this home to anyone.
