Cotleigh is a purpose-built residential care home situated in Hackenthorpe and run by Sheffcare Limited; a not-for-profit provider of excellent care. Cotleigh has 62 bedrooms, 30 of which are specialist care beds for Elderly Mentally Infirm (EMI) residents. All of the 62 rooms have en-suite facilities.
This care home provides person-centred care through individual care plans; designed to meet each service-user’s needs and treat them with the upmost dignity and respect. The home uses a key-worker system so that each resident is assigned a dedicated member of staff.
Cotleigh organises regular entertainment and therapeutic activities, alongside its own dedicated activity worker and external volunteers. Activities include baking, flower arranging and chair-obics. The home organises day trips and holds fundraising and themed events throughout the year, and residents visit the nearby social clubs periodically. Visitors may visit the home at any reasonable time, without appointment, and families may join residents for freshly cooked meals, which are served in the dining rooms.
Residents may bring items of their own furniture for their rooms, which all have telephone and television points, and a carer-calling system. The communal areas are bright and friendly. There is a laundry service, and a hairdresser, doctor and chiropodist visit the homes regularly.
