Fulwood Lodge Care Home

Under observation while visiting my sick nan. I noticed how stretched out the staff was. They had cleaners doing the meals. And not many carestaff on. It may seem a loverly little carehome but you can see that underneath theres alot of cracks. The way the management speak to the staff to was shocking! They were very rude. If my nan wasnt so ill i would ask my mum to move her

When I visited my friend, who had undergone a serious invasive operation, I found her seated in her chair in the lounge, not interacting, far removed from the TV and lacking in stimulation. During her stay of two and half months, which was meant to be for my friend's recuperation, she deteriorated, became very tired and her ability to take fluid by herself diminished. To improve her situation, I asked for her to have physio, which was declined several times on the grounds of her cognitive ability and her safety. She is now in hospital, on a drip, still being re-hydrated. With the re-hydration, my friend's cognitive and co-ordination skills have vastly improved as did her speech. She now looks healthier than she has looked for months. I am very displeased how Fulwood Lodge is viewing the well being of its residents. I also found myself being patronised when I asked for my friend's physiotherapy. As a result I would strongly recommend not using this care home if a choice is available.
