Lansdowne Care Home

My ex husband was put in lansdown care home only was supposed to be there 4 weeks as I wanted him home when he came out of hospital.I got a call saying my husband was in a ambulance on his way to the care home myself and daughter drove down there.The room was dirty floor sticky no covers or pillowcases on the bed. The chest of drawers was broken only a small draw was useable.the toilet frame had no Wooden hand rails on just big nails sticking up that would go into his hands and could of gone out the other side. They gave him a cup of tea in a plastic cup that was all stained brown where not been washed properly .a mattress’ had all the stuffing hanging out of it so dangerous plus germs as it couldn’t be washed. No one took any notice of my complaint. Some stuff rude no manners all stick together and the manager knows what’s going on but sticks with his staff . My husband got vivid in there as they didn’t stick to Covid rules and passed away jan 2022. Please don’t put your loved ones in a care home if you can help it as those poor souls with dementia are abused as stuff use it saying they don’t know what there saying.well I could right a book about that dungeon .please don’t put your love ones in there take it from me I’ve seen it all going on in there so you know what’s going on in there now please don’t let your love one suffer

My bed bound mother lived on the first floor at this home from 21 August 2015 until 8 February 2016. Staff members were very kind and pleasant to my mother. On 8 February 2016, my mother was transferred to the Royal Free Hospital where she was found to have multiple Stage 4 infected pressure ulcers, including a blackened foot and a 5 cm deep ulcer on her sacral area. The hospital records indicate she also had Urosepsis, faecal impaction, dehydration and Dementia. She died two weeks later of multiple organ failure. It is not clear if she had an illness that made her pressure ulcers inevitable. Thank you for reading.
