My wife aged 92 years was admitted to the home following a period in the James Paget Hospital in 2015. She was originally admitted with a broken femur, regretfully she suffered other medical problems and was not mobile from that time. I visited her nearly every day at the home. Consequently I noticed all aspects of how she was treated. I was paying for her care, having my claim for continuing care being rejected. I noticed there was reasonable
Nursing care and attention, bearing in the demands demanded by other patients.,They have a good alarm, system which was continually sounding. Staff reacted quickly to assess the call, and then prioritised further action. Qualified nursing staff were always at hand and prepared to call an outside doctor for further assessment. Regretfully my wife passed away after nearly four months and the staff treated us with compassion. I did noticed that cleaners were continually Shampooing and cleaning the corridor carpets. There were minor building problems concerning a rear entrance which was a little difficult to negotiate a wheelchair, and I brought to their notice but I understand it has been rectified. Bearing in mind the age of the building I formed the opiinion was well run. I noticed that new patients were given a welcome pack of toilet requisits. I noticed the office appeared well run, particually respecting patients property.. I have just remembered that their in house laundry service needed modernising and made more efficient.
