Deerhurst Care Home

As a family we had the good fortune of our father being placed at Deerhurst. Throughout the time my father resided at Deerhurst he received a level of care and compassion significantly higher than we expected. The team, led by Lesley Hobbs, endeavoured to respond to his needs as and when they arised. My father and his family were treated with respect and all welcomed whenever we chose to visit.

Our experience of Deerhurst has been nothing but favourable. The Home Manager and their team are extremely caring and supportive to both residents and their families, and my sister and I have been extremely grateful for the genuine kindness, skill and dedication they have shown our mother since she became a resident in July last year. Deerhurst has a safe, friendly, welcoming and homely atmosphere and their ethos of encouraging personal choice and respect for residents runs throughout all ther interactions. There is a wide range of well thought out activities availabe for all ( residents and relatives) to join throughout the week and a lively, warm feel is evident at all times. Staff and volunteers also willingly spend quality one to one time with those residents who prefer it. We would confidently recommend Deerhurst to anyone considering a care home for their relative.

My mother was a resident in Deerhurst for almost three years. Most weeks , I visited her at least three times a week and at times, I would visit daily. My mother, a trained nurse of many years experience, would constantly remark at how exceedingly kind and caring she found the staff. Due to my mother's complicated state of health, she required full time nursing care and the staff were always very kind,compassionate and patient. Another constant praise given by my mother was for the catering. "Excellent food" she stated. The manager, was always available, should you wish to speak to her and if one should have any queries, these would be answered if possible, to the satisfaction of all concerned. During the time I spent at Deerhurst, I noted that the residents were always treated with kindness and respect and made to feel important. No one was ever too busy to stop and have a chat or a gentle laugh with the residents.Every single resident was of paramount importance to the management and staff members and the volunteers.So to these wonderful folk who have given so much care and warmth to very vulnerable precious people, I thank you from the bottom of my heart
